AFSC’s People’s March & Declaration of Resistance: July 4
Dear Wilmington Yearly Meeting,
American Friends Service Committee (AFSC) warmly invites Wilmington Yearly Meeting to join us for a National Day of Action on July 4th, 2026, as we come together in community to reflect, connect, and make our Declarations of Resistance to the rise of authoritarianism. The day will include joining a coalition of local and national groups marching in “The People’s Parade,” and making a personal commitment to:
Protect people and communities
Resist authoritarian government
Build a free, equal and just future
For those who are not able to be in Philadelphia on July 4th, you can still participate! Friends and allies elsewhere in the country are invited to demonstrate their solidarity by gathering for 1-hour of collective public witness in their own communities, in the spirit of Love as Action vigils that have happened in over 40 communities across the country since December 2025.
Please consider joining us for this National Day of Action on July 4th. Sign up or host a vigil at afsc.org/love-action. We welcome your spirit, your energy, and your commitment as we gather to protect, resist, and build together in this moment.
In the work,
