Fresh Wind: October 10, Maryville, Tennessee

Wilmington Yearly Meeting of Friends will meet on Saturday, October 10, beginning at 9 a.m., at Maryville Friends’ Meetinghouse in Maryville, TN, for the first of our three seasonal gatherings. The theme for 2026-2027 is A Fresh Wind. Registration is not required, but encouraged especially if you will be partaking of the lunch, provided by the Youth & Young Adults as a fundraiser. To register, please call or send an email to the Yearly Meeting office. We continue the practice of having our sessions available both in-person and via Zoom. Please contact the YM office to obtain the Zoom credentials.

SCHEDULE:

  9:00 am: Ministry & Counsel; clerk is Dave Goff (he will be attending via Zoom)
10:00 am: Worship & Bible Study; Ashlyn Stanton-Henry of Lakeway Friends will lead the Bible Study
11:00 am: Break
11:15 am: Presentation about Friendsville Academy & Historical Documents by Joan VanSickle Sloan
12:15 pm: Lunch – by donation fundraiser for Youth & Young Adult Committee. Menu below!
1:15 pm: Clerking Workshop presented by Dave Goff (via Zoom)
2:00 pm: Meeting with Attention to Business, presiding clerk is Jeannette Hamby

LUNCH:  homemade vegan vegetable soup, potato soup, breads, desserts and drinks [that’s all the details I’ve got, folks! ask the YM presiding clerk if you need to know more!]

Maryville Friends address: 2044 Sequoyah Ave, Maryville, TN 37804. If you haven’t been to Maryville Friends in a while, please be aware that the property around the Meetinghouse has been developed, and your view of the meetinghouse is blocked if you’re coming on from Brown School Road.
