Cincy’s MLK Jr. March

MLK Jr March, lunch & prayer—Monday, Jan 19 with Cincinnati Friends

The A Mighty Stream nurture group of Cincinnati Friends Meeting (CFM) invites you to a quiet time of worship, lunch and prayer on Monday, Jan. 19 after the annual MLK Jr March, which begins at 10:30 am from the Freedom Center, downtown Cincinnati.

Some of us will be marching and carpooling from the meeting parking lot at 9:45 am. Feel free to join us. We will not be staying for the extended program at Music Hall, but return to the meetinghouse about noon.

Whether you march or not, join us for lunch and worship. Please bring soup to share and/or your own sandwich. We’ll eat from 12-12:45 and worship from 12:45-1:30 pm.

The A Mighty Stream (AMS) group honors our commitment to EquaSion’s call to address racism and bias personally, in our faith and larger communities. EquaSion, led by CFM/AMS Member Deidre Hazelbaker, is a citywide interfaith organization dedicated to antiracism. AMS recently hosted the “Rustin” movie about Black, gay, Quaker Bayard Rustin, who organized the 1963 March on Washington with MLK, Jr.  For more information, contact Cathy Barney, cathybarney@hotmail.com.
