Fall Gathering: Saturday, November 8, 2025
Meeting in-person and via Zoom.
Theme & Scriptures: “Called in Joy for These Times”
Acts 10:14-15 — “The voice spoke to him a second time, “Do not call anything impure that God has made clean,” and Esther 4:14 — “And who knows but that you have come to your royal position for such a time as this?”
Wilmington Yearly Meeting of Friends will gather on Saturday, November 8, 2025, in the Kelly Center of Wilmington College. Sessions will be held in the McCoy Room. The Youth & Young Adult Committee will provide a light lunch on a donation basis; Room 10 will be available to us as will the refrigerator and microwave oven in Room 8.
Schedule:
- Ministry & Counsel will meet at 9:00 a.m.
- Meeting for Worship will begin at 10:00 a.m. Stephen Pothoff will be leading a discussion on what it means to be “Called in Joy for These Times”
- At 11 a.m., Ann Pettigrew Nunes with Cincinnati Friends will be offer a workshop entitled “The Quaker journey with Godly Play and the development of Faith & Play”
- Noon: lunch break. The Youth & Young Adults (YAYA) will again be offering a lunch as a donation-based fund-raiser. See below for more info!
- Following lunch, Dave Goff will offer the second clerking workshop. This workshop is not only for current clerks, but for anyone who wants to better understand the hows & whys of conducting meetings within Wilmington Yearly Meeting of Friends.
- Meeting with Attention to Business will begin at 2 p.m. Both the Christian Concerns for Peace & Society Committee and the YM’s Ministry & Counsel have indicated to the Executive Committee that they expect to have items of business to be considered. Clerks, if your committee also has business to address in November, please send that information to Patricia Thomas at your earliest convenience so that she may prepare an agenda.
