Greetings to Friends Everywhere:

Western Yearly Meeting met in May, June, and August 2026 for a three-part approach to the169th annual session in an effort to involve more members in the decision-making process.

The May session concentrated on discussion and discernment for the future of Western Yearly Meeting.  The June session held at Quaker Haven Camp focussed on family and relationships with workshops and discussions about what can be done to make our Yearly Meeting relevant to those around us, using SPICES as a foundation for a point of contact with those who do not yet know Christ.  The third (August) session emphasized the financial business of the meeting, review of Board reports, a review of the Strategic Plan being developed, and how we can meaningfully address issues within affiliate organizations.  This session also included support of a protest of prison conditions for ICE detainees and a minute of appreciation for the work of Kelly Kellum as leader of Friends United Meeting.
