Queries & Guidelines for the 2025-2026 State of Society Reports and Memorials are provided by the Wilmington Yearly Meeting Ministry & Counsel.

In drafting your Meeting’s State of Society reports, Ministry & Counsel asks that you please give prayerful consideration to the following queries. A State of Society report would best be more than simply a “Q & A” list of these Queries, but would address them by examples from the Meeting’s shared life. If the Yearly Meeting theme and/or song played a role in Meeting activities, please share that as well.

1. How does your Meeting experience joy?
2. How does your Meeting create joy in these times?
3. How does your Meeting work toward unity?

Memorials: WYM Ministry & Counsel has prepared a guideline to assist Monthly Meetings in composing their Memorials. You can find the complete document, approved at the March 14 Gathering, here (pdf). It is important to remember that a Memorial is not an obituary. Please consult this document as you prepare your Memorials, whose purpose (in the words of the Guidelines, includes “To comfort the Meeting and the Friend’s family by honoring their beloved Friend. … Work as led: Spirit will move you in the right direction – to know what to include or omit – to know how to present facts so that truth is served. A Memorial Minute should be brought to monthly meeting for business for approval before sending it to the Yearly Meeting office.”

Statistical Reports: We will be using the same simplified format as last year, which you can find here (pdf). This report format was approved by the Executive Committee on 29th October 2024.

The deadline for all of these reports is May 1, 2026. Please submit all materials to the Yearly Meeting office, via email (preferred) to office@wilmingtonyearlymeeting.org; ideally, you will also copy Dave Goff, clerk of Ministry & Counsel, at goffdn@gmail.com.
