Quaker Cupboard is Bare!
Quaker Cupboard, an on-campus free food and essentials pantry, is available to all Wilmington College students. Students have already been returning to campus (those who have responsibilities before classes begin), and New Student Orientation is August 20 — less than two weeks away! But the Cupboard is bare! Nancy McCormick (only semi-retired, and I believe “in-charge” of the Quaker Cupboard), sends along this request:
“Hello Friends,
I am reaching out to ask for help for incoming students regarding food assistance at Wilmington College, because our Quaker Cupboard is bare.
Students arrive the 20th and classes start the 24th.
I WILL NEED YOUR ITEMS BY AUGUST 19TH – Thanks so much.
Please bring your items to the Quaker Heritage Center or email me to pick up: nancy_mccormick@wilmington.edu or text me at: 937-728-0095.
Yes friends I am only semi – retired and will be working 10 hours a week at WC. This is a reality in the Quaker ministry world.
Blessings, Noah Kellum, Campus Minister, Wilmington College
and Nancy McCormick
LET’S KEEP IT SIMPLE this first go around:
-
-
- Apple Sauce cups
- Raman noodles / cups and packages
- Spaghetti Sauce
- Spaghetti Noodles
- Mac and cheese microwavable cups
- Mac and cheese in a box
- Peanut Butter
- Jelly
- SNACKS:
- Microwavable popcorn
- Snack crackers
- Packages of NUTS
- Packages of peanuts “
-
I believe monetary donations may also be sent to Wilmington College Office of Advancement, with the memo line to read “Quaker Cupboard” (at least, there’s a page on the WC website that says you can do that….). I KNOW you can do that with a check to the Yearly Meeting, and we’ll get it set aside for Quaker Cupboard use!
