USFW Spring Tea

The program will be a showing of the mini documentary  “Marching Mothers” presented by the Highland County Historical Society. This film is the story of the courageous mothers that integrated Hillsboro’s Webster Elementary School in the mid 1950s. In attendance will be some ladies who were students of the “Kitchen Schools” as Mary Hackney, one of the Quaker volunteered teachers who helped the marching mothers, nicknamed the home schooling set up by the parents.

There will be a short reorganization meeting for the Yearly Meeting USFW following the program.

You do NOT have to belong to USFW or the Yearly Meeting to attend this event. It is open to all ladies to enjoy fellowship and learning more about the Black/Quaker history that happened right here in our backyard.

Cost: $7.00

Reservations are needed by April 26 (so we know how many tea cups we need to dig out of our China cupboards).
