Greetings Friends,

It’s almost time for the Corn Festival and the Quaker Bakers need your help! The Corn Festival will be held Sept. 5-7 this year. Hopefully we will have nice weather. There will be coffee and donuts in the mornings and coffee and iced tea the rest of the day. Once again everything will be by donation. We have not yet decided where we will send our proceeds this year.

We need all kinds of baked goods! Popular items are cookies (chocolate chip!), brownies, rice krispies treats, no bake cookies, and fudge. We sell a lot of mini sweet breads, and homemade breads. We cannot take things that need to be refrigerated. Please go ahead and cut bars, brownies, and fudge. Package them in baggies and label them. Please package them in small amounts. For example, 2-3 cookies, 1 or 2 brownies or fudge depending on size. I have several sizes of pie pans for anyone interested in making small pies. Those are very popular! If you like making cakes, I have plastic clamshells for individual pieces. It also helps to mark individual bags if the product has a common food allergen like milk, nuts, or eggs. Please include one copy of your recipe in case anyone asks. We also get requests for gluten-free and sugar-free items. If you have a corn item you can make, that would be nice.

If you would like some small pie pans or clamshells, please contact me and I’ll try to get them to you.

Food drop-off at the Corn Festival.

If you would like to drop off your food donations that weekend it is very easy:

    • Drive in the main entrance off Nelson Ave.
    • There will be a drive off to the left with a food drop-off sign.
    • You will drive around the track until you come to an area where there is a small tent. There should be someone there with a golf cart.
    • Just give your items to them and tell them it is for the Quaker Bakers.
    • It then magically appears at our tent.

Thank you for your support!

If you would like to help in the tent for a couple of hours this year give me a call. It’s a great way to see people!
