Dear Friends,
Back in early April, I stated that Wilmington Yearly Meeting planned to hold its annual sessions in person, hosted by Cincinnati Friends Meeting. At that time, I noted that the COVID-19 pandemic could interfere with these plans. Indeed it has. The planning committee has decided that, given the current state of the pandemic, holding a large in-person gathering in late July would be ill advised.
Wilmington Yearly Meeting is now planning to hold its annual sessions as a series of Internet meetings on ZOOM, beginning Thursday evening, July 23, through Sunday noon, July 26. Sunday worship will be hosted by Cincinnati Friends Meeting, and will include the recording of our two candidates, Miriam Speaight and Hannah Lutz.
The schedule of activities is being reduced somewhat, but will still involve a mixture of business, Bible study, workshops, plenary speakers, and worship. We will have ample free time between formal gatherings for fellowship. Once all the details are set, we will publish a schedule.
I look forward to seeing you, or, if you connect via phone, hearing you in July.
Hoping all stay safe and healthy,
jp lund, clerk
